I am a Small Part of the World

I was at a children's choir concert today and they sang this song. The words really touched me and I wanted to share them with all of you. :)

I am a Small Part of the World

I am a small part of the world.
I have a small hand which to hold.
But if I stand by your side and you put your hand in mine,
Together we can be so strong and bold,

I am a small part of the world.
I have a small dream in my eyes
But if I tell you my dreams,
together we can reach up to the skies.

Hand in hand, dreams combine.
Voice with voice, together for all time
Hand in hand, dreams combine,
voice with voice, for all time.

I am a small part of the world.
I have a small voice ringing clear.
But if I sing for freedom,
together we have nothing left to fear

Hand in hand, dreams combine.
Voice with voice, together for all time.
Hand in hand, dreams combine.
Voice with voice for all time.

Hand in hand, dreams combine.
Voice with voice for all time
Hand in hand, dreams combine.
Voice with voice for all time

I am a small part of the world.
Take my hand

Thoughts of Thought

“Life in itself is neither good nor evil, it is the place of good and evil, according to what you make it."

"Confidence in others' honesty is no light testimony of one's own integrity. We can be knowledgeable with other men's knowledge but we cannot be wise with other men's wisdom."

"There is no conversation more boring than the one where everybody agrees."

"A good marriage would be between a blind wife and a deaf husband."

Candlelight

“A candle loses nothing of its light by lighting another candle.” James Keller

Goals

I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; I will not refuse to do something I can do.

--Edward Everett Hale

How to Make Peace

"Although you may not become a president, each of you can be a builder of peace. You can make the conscious decision to find ways, sometimes just little ways, to improve the lives of others. In your work and in your family, you can speak softly and treat others with dignity and respect. The bridges to peace are not built with concrete and steel but with kindness and tolerance, compassion and understanding... The university of peace is in the home, and mothers are the first professors. They are the ones who teach us to love and respect each other, to compromise and share."
-Jehan Sadat, wife of Anwar Sadat (president of Egypt)

Doing Your Best Is Good Enough

"Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake." -Victor Hugo

Prayer is Always There

I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go.
